Leveling

Every tier of Ascension is subdivided into many levels. Before a Champion can Ascend to the next higher tier, they must first reach the maximum level cap for their current tier. The amount of levels varies depending on the current tier. In order to increase a Champion's level, they can use either a specific amount of raw Essence earned in combat or an equivalent amount of Essence Crystals from their inventory. When a Champion's level increases, the Essence also provides a boost to their combat stats, making them stronger and more formidable in battle. When raw Essence is used, these stats may be increased somewhat unpredictably. However, when using the refined Essence Crystal players are given a preview of which stats will be impacted, thus allowing them to more strategically choose the most advantageous Crystals to use when leveling up.
